Dee's Style Zip Sauce...

I've been trying to figure out the best way to make a zip sauce for steaks for a while...and I've also figured out that it must be a Metro Detroit thing to even consider zip sauce, I may be incorrect on this, but everywhere else I've been has never even heard of it!!... I kept trying different mixtures of spices and seasonings trying to get the best tasting sauce. I finally discovered the best combination and I am ready to share it with all of you!! It does have a "bite" to it, but I think it was good, and I hope you all do too!!!

Ingredients:
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp thyme
1 tsp crushed rosemary
1 tsp parsley
1/4 lb melted butter (Melt in saucepan)
1 tsp salt
1/2 tbl  Dijon mustard (I prefer Jack Daniel's)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 1/2 tbl  Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp cumin

Prep:
~Combine first four ingredients in a mixing bowl
~Melt butter in a SAUCEPAN not in the microwave, be sure that the butter does not brown or burn...
~Add butter to mixing bowl
~Then add rest of ingredients, mix well
~Heat for a couple minutes back in saucepan.
~Pour a little bit over steak, serve hot.

Add to mixing bowl
 Melt butter in sauce pan...
Add butter to mixing bowl, then add rest of spices...

Mix well, then put back in sauce pan to heat up for a few minutes

Pour over steak for added flavor

Danielle's Saucy Country Style Ribs

Decided to make ribs one day and I've never made them before. I decided to slow cook them and I just added ingredients that sounded like it would make a tasty sauce for when I ate them.

Ingredients:
6 Country style ribs (approx. 2.5 lb package)
1 cup water
2 cups KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce
1/4 cup Jack Daniel's Dijon Mustard
1/2 tbl garlic salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbl Mrs. Dash Original
Sprinkle of paprika

Prep:
~Put ribs in slow cooker
~Add all ingredients
~Cook on high for 4 hours (I cooked mine at 6 hours because I live at a high altitude, I would still do the warming step though even if living at a lower altitude)
~Then turn down to warm for 1-2 additional hours
~Serve with any side dishes you prefer, and possible a side of warmed up K.C. Masterpiece BBQ sauce...

 Add ribs to slow cooker
Add water, bbq sauce, dijon mustard and spices

After 6 hours on high, turn down to warm for 1-2 additional hours

I cooked frozen sweet corn and Ore Ida potatoes in my deep fryer along with some leftover corn bread from my Deep Fried Catfish strips*** from the other night with the ribs...

Crab & Cheese Wontons

My plate when at a Chinese buffet is usually just egg drop soup and the crab wontons, or sometimes called crab rangoons. I absolutely love these! I wanted to find the perfect way to make them at home. This is a tricky recipe... so I'd recommend doing a trial-and-error before cooking these to serve to others. Plum sauce at Chinese restaurants is the best with these, but I bought a jar of Sweet and Sour sauce at the store and it is just as good with it. My pack of Wonton skins is usually like 40. I freeze half the skins and half the mixture after I make these if it is just for my husband and I. These are not nice to your waistline, which is why I'd probably save this for when you have a party at your house and then you can maybe make them all. This is a bit time consuming though. Do NOT fry them until you are ready to serve them though, they are only good hot.

Ingredients:
Can of imitation crab
1 bar Philadephia cream cheese
1 bunch scallions (green onions), chopped fine
20 Wonton skins
Canola oil for frying, in sauce pan or deep fryer
Bowl of warm water

Prep:
~Heat oil to 375 degrees F
~Mix crab meat, chopped fine scallions and slightly warmed cream cheese well.
~Put a teaspoon to a teaspoon and a half in the center of one wonton skin
~With the tip of your finger, take water along all four sides of wonton
~Fold into triangle and the bring up other sides, fold sides down so oil won't get inside when cooking
~If not going to fry up right away, place on tray with damp paper towel, underneath and over the wontons to keep them from drying out
~When frying, fry for a few minutes on each sides, till golden brown.
~Serve with plum sauce or sweet and sour sauce

Fresh Garden Salad

Sometimes I just love to have a salad with tons of goodies in it... this is obviously one mixture of hundreds you could think up for a salad, I just liked the blend.

1 bag Romaine mix
1 carrot, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 apple, sliced, chopped
Handful cherry tomatoes
Green or red grapes (optional)
1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds
2 tbl italian seasoning
Blended cheese (optional)

Prep:
~Wash lettuce, add to large mixing bowl
~Slice apples and then chop into bite sized pieces
~Cut celery stalk down center, and then chop in small pieces
~Peel outer skin of carrot, slice down center, twice, then chop into small pieces
~Add tomatoes, sesame seeds and italian seasoning, mix well
~Serve with favorite dressing and top with cheese if desired (pictured below)... I absolutely LOVE this Vidalia Onion Vinegarette dressing found at Sam's Club... it's amazing!!

Add sesame seeds and italian seasoning

Teriyaki Steak Fajitas

I had this random steak I had in the freezer and I decided to cook it up, and I had no idea what I was going to with it, but it ended up being a recipe that I'm definitely going to make again.
